The short, and correct answer is yes! However, I value comments and thoughts of all reasonable nature from all persuasions. Simply put if we have the tacit approval/partnership of our Council we…Continue

I do hope some of our town councillors are more supportive in future. But I am grateful for the ones who did ,Chris Inchley,Garfield Kennedy Neil Shearn Bob Champion Sue Gibbs Martin Lovell.I would also like to thank Sue Cook and Jeff Curtis for their support and not forgetting the Clerk Graham Brown, plus yourself, Irene, for the hard work you put into the professional report you produced.

Comment by Michael Perry on November 19, 2011 at 12:18 Good luck with finding the funding! The skaters will be very grateful.
I am so delighted that common sense has prevailed to enable the Town Council to approve funding for the Skate Park, even if it did mean that some Clllrs. had to learn their lessons publicly about declaring interests. Could have saved us all a lot of disappointment on the previous week, if they had just done their jobs properly. Pity too, that the assembled had to endure Cllr. Parham taking up an indecent length of time in the public forum section when his speech was irre levant to those in the audience, and effectively denied the skate park supporters a voice. Hopefully, better days ahead, and I wish everyone connected with the project every good wish and success !
8PM - TUESDAY MDC Offices; extraordinary meeting RE Skate Park - make sure we all turn out to be there!
Let's make sure we have a really strong presence at the next public meeting, which is next tuesday at 8pm at MDC offices. This is our opportunity to show our determination, unity and persistence. WE WILL NOT GO AWAY! We insist on the best for our youth - and they are entitled to it!.
Please spread the word about this group. We can go back to the council if we raise sufficient numbers (Petition = 750=) so if you are in support of a new skate park for our youth please say so, giving name & address. Thanks, Irene
